What Is Acid Rain And Why Is It Harmful?

Acid rain is a big problem today that will kill us tomorrow.Acid rain is polluted water that becomes acidic by polltants in the air like sulfur dioxide and nitrigen oxides.

Acid rain is harmful because instead of beeyin clean water it is polutted water.It causes lakes and rivers to be acidic that means to that the lake is all polutted and we have less water we can drink.Acid rain harms forests too,acid rain desolves nutrients that trees need to be healthy and live more.Hole forests located in mountains can die because of acid rain.Acid rain affects the food web,it causes phytoplankton that is in water to die,then insects die and insects are the mayor surse of food for lots of animals,like salamanders,frogs etc...then other animals die and it keeps going until nothing is left.Rain damages objects like cars and buildings by causing pain to peel and buildings look older.So acid rain damages all the things our food,our world and our lives.

What Causes Acid Rain?

Acid rain is caused by chemical reactions,when smoke is released into the air and mix with water.Human activities are the main cause of acid rain.Humans have released many chemicals into the atmosphere.Power plants burn fossil fuels like coal top produce electricity,this action releases the mayority of sulfur dioxide.Cars,trucks,buses and factories let nitrogen oxide into the air,that goes to the atmosphere.This pollutants cause acid rain.
